About the project

One argument, published in seventy‑two pieces.

4444 is a publishing project — seventy-two interlocking frameworks and one campaign, each a proposed model of a single domain, together a single argument about how a life and a society stay in harmony.

Read alone, most of these frameworks would be set aside. The whole is what makes each piece legible — so this page is that whole, stated plainly, before any of the reading begins.

What this is

A publishing project, not a doctrine.

4444 by shemim is an educational publishing project, built on more than a decade of cross‑disciplinary research. It treats quantum biology, neuroscience, mysticism, gender, governance, ecology, health, and technology as one system of thought, rather than a set of separate disciplines that nod at each other and go home.

The work takes the form of the frameworks and one shared campaign, #LetmyPeopleLight. Each framework is a self-contained proposed model of a single domain, mechanism, or key. None asks to be taken on faith. Every substantial claim is framed the same way — a proposed model, published to be tested, not believed — and it carries its sources with it.

These are not chapters of a book to be read in order. They are pieces of one argument, and any one of them can be opened first and still lead to the rest.

Why it exists

Discord runs in a loop, and the loop is the unit of the problem.

The wager underneath all seventy-two frameworks is that human flourishing is not mainly a shortage of information, income, or moral instruction. It is a matter of discord that runs in a self‑reinforcing loop.

  • Experiences sculpt brains. Light and its timing, food as chemical information, water, sleep, the small injuries a growing head absorbs, the words spoken in a house — these are not lifestyle accessories. They are ongoing neurobiology.
  • Brains shape society. Attention, self‑restraint, the balance between the hemispheres, and moral intuition under load become voting patterns, markets, parenting, and the kind of leaders we can even recognize as leaders.
  • Society manufactures the next experience. Economies built on zero‑sum games, schooling tuned for compliance, media that rewards outrage, budgets that starve cities — these feed the next round of nervous systems.

Repair the inner life alone, or the outer world alone, and the loop simply re‑forms around whatever was left untouched. Personal practice that ignores institutions falls short; institutional reform that ignores biology and meaning falls short too. This is why the frameworks of body and mind and the frameworks of society and governance are one intervention here, not two neighboring departments. The loop is the unit — so the loop, whole, is what we try to reach.

Long before any of this had a neuroscience, the same law was told as a scent — that the company we keep seeps into what we become:

A sweet‑smelling clay, one day in the bath, was handed me by a beloved.
I asked: are you musk or ambergris, since your delicious scent intoxicates me?
It replied: I heard I was a worthless mud;
yet I mingled with a flower for a while;
the excellence of my companion affected me —
or else, I am the same dirt which I am.

Sa’adi, 13th‑century Persian poet

How it works

Pieces of one whole, met where we already stand.

A framework read in isolation is easy to wave off. A lab meeting would set aside a piece on judgment by scent; a newsroom would set aside a piece on the number‑keys of scripture. That reflex is predictable, and mostly it is the sound of attention running out before the argument arrives. The whole is what answers it.

So each framework opens where a reader already stands — in familiar territory, a phenomenon from ordinary life — and then crosses a natural bridge into a domain that same reader might never have opened on purpose. A reader who arrives through the science walks toward the mystical; a reader who arrives through scripture walks toward the laboratory. The aim is not to win an argument. It is the quieter moment when a proposed model resonates with a reader's own experience.

Where a claim reaches into the source traditions, it is triangulated three ways: a finding from contemporary science, the older evidence held in the mathematics and root‑words of Hebrew, Aramaic, and their cognates, and a natural phenomenon where the two readings meet. Science is invited as a bridge, never as proof that a scripture was right, and the older reading is never a proof of the science. The bridge is the method.

Because the claims are bold, their footing is labeled plainly. Every scientific claim states where it stands on a simple ladder:

Established
robust peer‑reviewed evidence
Nascent
preliminary evidence
Speculative
plausible but untested
Highly Speculative
minimal or no evidence

Absence of evidence is not treated as disproof, and a proposed model is never dressed as settled science. Where a measurement is still being built — the fragrance benchmark among them — we say so, and we calibrate in the open.

What it is not

What this is not.

  • Not wellness content, and not self‑improvement. The body and its daily rhythms matter here because they are where society is manufactured, not because comfort is the goal. If we sleep better for it, that is a welcome side effect, not the thesis.
  • Not a movement asking for belief. Nothing on these sites requires an act of faith. The frameworks are put forward to be argued with, and the sources are shown so the argument can be a fair one.
  • Not New‑Age spirituality, and not numerology for its own sake. The mystical material is kept at full strength and never softened into something easier to accept — yet it is offered as a formal, testable set of models, not as an invitation to leave rigor behind.
  • Not a call for one belief, one system, or one authority over everyone. The argument runs the other way — toward many entry points and local roots.

Who publishes it

Published by Shemim, from New York.

The project is published by Shemim. It is deliberately impersonal: the case is meant to stand on the frameworks and their sources, not on anyone's authority or biography.

What matters is whether the models hold together and whether they resonate — and that is a judgment each reader makes on their own terms. The standard it holds to is short: proposed models, radically intellectually honest.

Where to begin

Begin anywhere. The rest stays reachable.

The frameworks are meant to be entered from whichever side of life is nearest. There is no required first page and no order to keep. Open the one that speaks to where we already are, and the whole argument remains within reach from there.

And the whole of it points toward one plain end — a genuine, lasting harmony, the sort a well‑kept life gives off the way a sound body gives off a clean scent.
